http://www.delawareonline.com/usatoday/article/5404249 Did you know that you can borrow ebooks and audio books from the Dekalb County Library? It's fairly easy to do. You do need a login and password which you have to get from the library. You can access OverDrive from a computer - http://www.dekalblibrary.org/elibrary/ebooks-and-downloadable-audiobooks.html. Or, you can download the app, "OverDrive," directly to a smartphone or tablet. Electronic materials are loaned for a period of two weeks.
Even more exciting is that our City Schools of Decatur libraries are looking to purchase OverDrive so that students can check out ebooks directly from their school library. Stay tuned .... I'm usually reading at least one grown-up book, one kid's book and one teenage book at any given time. I am just finishing "Little Failure" by Gary Shteyngart - for grown-ups. I've also started Kevin Henkes' "The Year of Billy Miller - for kids and recently finished, "Flora and Ulysses by Kate DiCamillo - this year's Newbury winner. And I recently finished, "The Nazi Hunters" by Neal Bascomb which won an American Library Association award this year - it's a young adult book. You can let me know what you are reading by leaving a comment! Have you been watching the Olympics? I definitely have. My favorite parts are the opening ceremony and figure skating. I love watching the athletes enter the Olympic Stadium; they look so excited and proud to be representing their countries. I also love watching the figure skating because I used to figure skate A LOT - from about first grade and through college. I lived in Ohio which was cold in the winter and there were many places to skate. I did not, however, like the sweaters worn by the American athletes. Did you know that these sweaters could be purchased for $595 and they sold out immediately online? This means that people bought them so quickly that there are none left to buy. What do you think? Would you buy one? Click here to watch Georgia’s best known pair of bald eagles through Berry College’s eagle nest cam! You can leave a comment to let me know what you saw !
